The CUAMS Committee

The Committee are the brave volunteers responsible for the organisation (or lack thereof) of CUAMS. Elections for the committee are held each year towards the end of the Lent term, so if you're interested in running for a position, then is the time to make your intentions known. As well as the elected posts, there are a number of co-opted positions that tend to be filled by whoever is foolish enough to volunteer in the presence of a Committee member (such as Webmaster and Publicity Officer).

Committee Changeover 2008

The CUAMS committee changeover occurs at our AGM, which this year will be held on the 21st of February. Any active member of the society is allowed to stand for a committee position and, according to the semi-mythical CUAMS constitution, nominations (you're entirely free to nominate yourself, although you have to be a paid member) have to be submitted to the secretary in the form of a comic strip.

Nominations for our upcoming AGM are open now, and will close on the 20th of February. This year we're especially interested in seeing fresh blood joining our ranks, and encourage nominations for all positions, major and minor. In particular, Mark (our treasurer) will be leaving this year and so definitely needs replaced, and our position of webmaster should be considered as already vacant, as Maz, our current webmaster, left Cambridge without anyone to pass the role to and is still burdened with the work.

If you're interested in applying for any of the committee positions, please feel free to talk to any of the committee members at one of the meetings, or pop onto IRC and have a chat with them there. If you're just looking to help out generally rather than take on a specific elected role then just let us know and we'd love to have you, as we're always happy to accept extra help.
